The tranquil village of Troncones is nestled between the beautiful Sierra Madre Mountains and the Pacific Ocean. There is miles of pristine beaches for swimming, surfing, boogie boarding, beach combing or peacefully sitting back in the shade sipping on a Margarita. Here you will find wonderful dining options to suit every occasion and taste. There is plenty of nature's well preserved sites and activities but, none of the hustle of a typical resort town.
Aside from the breathtaking beaches, Troncones is known as an ecological paradise, with several estuaries and lagoons home to hundreds of species of birds and even a few crocodiles. Sea turtles nest here and the local people are active in the conservation of these endangered creatures. The Sea Turtle Sanctuary is located right across the road from Troncones RV Park. Almost daily at sunset, the hatchlings come to life and are released on the beach. We are so fortunate to watch them as they race toward the water to begin their lives at sea. Specific pods of Whales pass each year in their migratory routes. You may even get to know them by name. Dolphins are often seen close to shore playing in the surf.
Troncones is world famous as one of Mexico’s best year round surf destinations with several renowned breaks here and nearby Saladita.
There is a multitude of excellent dining options from the very casual to the semi formal, everything from pizza to the best Mexican cuisine. Seafood of course is fresh and plentiful. The finest cuts of beef, grilled to perfection, are right across the street at Roberto's Bistro.
Diving, snorkelling, fishing, surf lessons, hiking and kayaking can all be arranged. We even have a skate board park in the village. In the end Troncones has something to offer everyone as long as what you are looking for isn’t the average resort town.
